| Carroll & Becky Update from Bungoma, Kenya |

Thursday, March 11, 2010
Dear Friends,
So much has happened in one week! We arrived safely in Nairobi last Thursday.
On Friday we purchased a good used Toyota SUV. There were challenges, but all is well.
On Saturday we traveled to Bungoma. We spent Saturday night in our new home.
On Sunday, we went to church where we were highly welcomed my many pastors from the community churches. After the service, we returned to our new home and began to unpack and get settled in.
On Monday, we meet with a local contractor and signed the agreement to begin construction of the new clinic. We are rejoicing for what the Lord has done.
On Tuesday, we went shopping for some essential for the new home. There were some repairs going on at the house so we spent Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the hotel just across the street.
On Wednesday, we met with the oversight committee assigned to assist in the clinic project. The committee will coordinate volunteers to help with each stage of the clinic project.
On Thursday, we went to the farm for the groundbreaking for the new clinic. Construction has begun! Thursday afternoon we went back to our house to continue to unpack and get settled in.
All this, in just one week.
This is the first time we have e-mail, but it is not set up properly. Carroll will be working on this some more tomorrow. We are still adjusting slowly to the time change. Bungoma is 7 hours ahead of Atlanta time.
Many thanks for all the prayers. We feel so blessed to be here. We will keep you updated on the progress of the clinic over the next few weeks.
Our love to all,
Carroll and Becky |
